Terms of Service
Effective June 2026. These terms govern merchant, customer, and wallet use of the Wasl digital receipt platform.
Service
Wasl provides merchant tools for creating, managing, and distributing digital receipts; a lightweight customer wallet; Wasl Device receipt capture workflows; Receipt Assistant where enabled; PDF downloads; support; billing; and aggregate merchant analytics.
Wasl does not replace the merchant POS, payment terminal, accounting system, tax records, refund process, or warranty process.
Merchant responsibilities
Merchants are responsible for accurate receipt data, VAT details, CR details, item prices, totals, refund policies, warranty terms, staff access, lawful customer communication, and all customer-facing commercial obligations. Merchants must keep their original POS/printer fallback available.
Customer wallet use
Customers may access a wallet using verified email or phone. Customers are responsible for keeping verified contact details accurate and not sharing access links or OTPs. The wallet is a convenience tool for receipt access and does not replace merchant-issued records unless separately confirmed by the merchant.
Public receipt links
Public receipt links are accessible to anyone who has the link or scans the QR/NFC tag. Customers should not share receipt links they consider sensitive. During controlled pilots, a receipt may be saved to one customer wallet at a time to reduce duplicate ownership claims.
Wasl Device
The Wasl Device works alongside an existing POS/printer setup and uploads receipt data to Wasl Cloud. Compatibility is not guaranteed for every POS, printer, cable, driver, or network setup. Merchants must maintain the original printer workflow as a fallback and notify Wasl if a device is offline, moved, damaged, lost, or stolen.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Wasl Devices are supplied on a loan basis, remain Wasl property, and must be returned on termination. A damaged, lost, or unreturned device may be charged at BHD 35 per device, subject to the signed merchant agreement.
Receipt Assistant
Receipt Assistant is an AI-powered convenience feature based on visible receipt content. Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. They are not tax, legal, accounting, warranty, refund, or consumer-rights advice. The receipt, merchant policy, and applicable law govern any dispute.
Merchant analytics and benchmarks
Merchants own their business receipt and sales data. Wasl may process merchant receipt, item, payment, VAT, branch, and device data to provide dashboards, operational alerts, financial summaries, and merchant performance recommendations for that merchant.
Wasl may also create anonymized and aggregated industry benchmarks, such as average receipt values, wallet save rates, category trends, peak periods, and receipt adoption trends. Benchmarks do not expose another merchant's raw transactions, identifiable customer personal data, customer contact details, or merchant-specific confidential data unless the merchant has explicitly agreed in writing.
Fees and payment
Standard starting plans are Starter at BHD 9/month, Professional at BHD 25/month, Business from BHD 45/month, and Enterprise by custom agreement. Invoices are issued manually and are due within 14 calendar days unless otherwise agreed. Wasl may suspend access after 30 days of non-payment following written notice. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades normally take effect at the next billing cycle.
Acceptable use
Users must not upload unlawful or fraudulent receipt data, impersonate merchants, scrape customer wallet data, bypass access controls, abuse OTP/email delivery, tamper with Wasl Devices, or interfere with platform operations.
Availability and support
Wasl aims to provide reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, service provider outages, internet issues, printer issues, or product changes may occur. Standard support is provided through in-platform support tickets and merchant support channels.
Suspension and termination
Wasl may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment after notice, false business information, fraudulent use, unlawful content, device tampering, security risk, or conduct that may harm Wasl, merchants, or customers. Merchants may cancel by written notice, subject to the billing period and merchant agreement.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wasl is not liable for indirect loss, lost profits, lost business, missed receipt captures, merchant tax/VAT errors, merchant refund or warranty decisions, or failures caused by the merchant's POS, printer, network, or fallback process. For merchant claims, Wasl's aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid by that merchant in the 12 months before the claim, unless a signed agreement states otherwise.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Merchant disputes are subject to the courts of Bahrain unless a signed merchant agreement states otherwise. Mandatory consumer protection rights, where applicable, are not limited by these terms.
Changes
Wasl may update these terms from time to time. Merchants will be notified of material changes by email or dashboard notice at least 14 days before they take effect where practical. Customers will be notified of material wallet term changes at next wallet access.
